London Casual Dating: Flirt Now, Meet Somewhere Lovely

Pick a corner of the city, meet somewhere public and know your way home.

The short answer

For casual dating in London, join Naughty Singles, chat first and meet in a public place in daylight or early evening. The Night Tube runs on Friday and Saturday nights, and minicabs must be booked ahead. You must be 18 or over.

Areas by mood

Which side of London suits your mood?

Each corner has its own idea of a good evening. Night Tube lines are from Transport for London’s map.

After dark

Sort the ride home first

Night Tube
Friday and Saturday nights only, on the Central, Jubilee, Northern, Piccadilly, Victoria and Windrush lines. Stations stay staffed while trains run.
Night buses
They run 24 hours a day, and every bus has CCTV.
Elizabeth line
Not a Night Tube line. The timetable to 12 December 2026 has the last trains through Tottenham Court Road at 00:30 westbound and 00:27 eastbound, Monday to Saturday, and 22:52 and 22:49 on Sundays.
Black taxis
The only cars you can hail in the street or hire at a rank without a booking.

Every other car for hire is a minicab, and a minicab is a booking.

  1. Book it yourself

Use a licensed company, by app, phone or at its office. Minicabs can only be booked in advance.

  2. Read the confirmation

It must show the number plate, the driver’s first name, their licence number and, where you can receive one, a photo.

  3. Match it, or walk away

If the car or driver differs from the booking, Transport for London says do not get in. It calls unbooked minicabs illegal and uninsured for passengers, whoever approaches whom.

Details come from Transport for London’s own pages, read on 16 October 2026. Check before you travel, as times can change.

Weather, diary and commute

  • Weather

Temperate oceanic: cool, cloudy winters, warm summers, rain all year. Kew’s July highs average 23.8°C and January lows 2.0°C, in Met Office 1991 to 2020 figures as Wikipedia tabulates them.

  • Dates for the diary

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland runs from 19 November 2026 to 3 January 2027. Pride in London returns on 3 July 2027, and Notting Hill Carnival is on 29 and 30 August 2027.

  • Coming in

Greater London borders Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, Surrey, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, and the commuter belt reaches about 40 miles from Charing Cross, to Reading, Aylesbury, Aldershot and Maidstone. Widen your distance, as the singles near me page explains, to take it in.

Where can you get tested in London?

NHS sexual health clinics are open to everyone and charge nothing. They test and treat STIs, including HIV, and offer contraception, HIV-protecting PrEP and PEP, and vaccinations. Visits are confidential, you need not give your real name and you do not usually need a referral.

Sexual Health London calls itself an NHS service for Londoners, with home STI kits ordered after an online consultation, “across most of London”.

Many infections give no warning signs, so a test is the only way to know. Ask your nearest NHS sexual health clinic which tests suit you.
